If you have recently experienced the death of someone or are anticipating the loss of a close friend or relative, you might be finding it difficult to adjust to the significant changes occurring in your life. Grief can shake everything up – your beliefs, your personality, and even your sense of reality. Bereavement is the time we spend adjusting to

Bereavement is the time we spend adjusting to a loss. There is no standard time limit, and no right or wrong way to feel during this time. Everyone must learn to cope in their own way.

Bereavement/grief support can provide help during these difficult times. Talking about a loss often allows a person to adjust to their new life and all of its changes, both good and bad. Keeping things bottled up or denying the sadness you are experiencing can prolong the pain. Bereavement/grief support can enable you to cope with loss, carry on with life and eventually find acceptance.

Person-to-Person Support

We are just a phone call away. Our experienced support team can help you via follow-up phone calls. Mail, email, even a personal visit, are all part of the follow-up grief support available.

Educational Resources

We have a series of Bereavement Newsletters that are informative and helpful guides to anyone facing the loss of a loved one. In addition to these free bereavement resources, you will find helpful links and articles on our website, Facebook and Twitter pages. Our vibrant community of trained grief counselors and experienced volunteers are always seeking quality resources for you and your family.

Support Groups

Each week we offer grief support groups, free of charge, in a community near you. Our experience grief counselors offer support, education and a chance to connect with others who have recently lost a loved one. This is a safe and supportive environment to help you begin to process your grief and move forward. See grief support group monthly calendar here.

Memorial Services

We host occasional, non-denominational memorial events to help you celebrate and remember the life of a loved one.

Note to Students:

Visitors disrupt our groups. We appreciate that you are asked to visit for your schooling, but due to the sensitive and confidential nature of our groups, we have strict policies about visitors. 1) If you want to observe a group for a class, you MUST call and speak with our bereavement coordinator at least two weeks before the group you want to visit. We need that much lead time for group members to be given time to consent to your visit and to choose not to attend if they wish. 2) No more than one visitor per group will be allowed. 3) No exceptions will be made to this policy, unscheduled (non-bereaved) visitors will not be allowed to attend groups and will be turned away at the door, as our bereaved group member’s well-being always comes first.
